Money is a tool to fulfill our dreams as a family, but also to fill the dreams of our kids. Right now and in the future. At the moment their dreams are really small everyday things, but eventually they grow and we want to be able to make them come true. At the same time, we want to have financial security in life and teach our kids our values. Money helps in both. It’s also a way to build something lasting, even after our kids are gone.

At the time of writing this our family is living on a quite tight budget. I mean we make enough to support a normal middle class life, but the lifestyle that we have at the moment doesn’t quite match our income. I try to give an idea where the money goes and how we believe (and hope) that things will change in the near future.

We're a regular middle-class Finnish family with two small kids, doing our best to build a future for them through investing — even when there's not much left to save each month. This post opens the curtain a little on who we are, what our finances really look like, and why we’re committed to growing a portfolio for our children.

Despite the name of the blog I’m not expecting to get a 1M euro portfolio for our kids’ in 18 years. We just don’t have that kind of money to put in and never will. But the name suggest that we are still raising future millionaires, they will just have to do a bit themselves after their 18th birthday. We are just giving them a slight head start and the mindset to finish the job.
