Why I built this site

Why I built this site

I have been into investing for about 8 years now. First it was a hobby that made me some money during my studies, but later that hobby turned into a passion that has never faded. However, our life situations have changed a lot in 8 years and so has my (and my family’s) investment journey. First it was all about me and my wife. Now it’s all about our family and securing our children’s future. This site documents our journey.

Why start documenting the journey now?

I have always wanted to share my own investing journey, but have never had the will to actually make it happen. Ever since our first child was born, my own investing has sort of regressed and most effort has been put to the kids portfolios. This site started partially because I wanted to share investing progress, but I have also developed a real fixation on AI and automation. I have always been very keen on learning new stuff and I easily get fixated to new things. And when I do, I really want to learn as much as possible. Now that AI age has brought us tools that anyone can use to build for example websites, this was the perfect match for me.

Transparent portfolio journal

Now the site is build and this is my first blog post. The site has a simple idea: to log every change in the kids’s investment portfolio and reflect on why those decisions were made. Instead of letting trades and thoughts disappear into spreadsheets and memories, I wanted a living archive — something that I, and maybe one day my kids, could look back on to understand the thinking behind each move.

For my children — and anyone on a similar path

One of my biggest motivations is to make investing approachable and inspiring — especially for my two young children. This site is my attempt to build something lasting, educational, and honest. It’s also here for anyone else who’s curious about how to build wealth slowly, intentionally, and with purpose.
